◈  How Prowins Protein Tabs works

Prowins tabs are based on 3 components:

- PROTEINS

Protein tabs contain a high concentration of superior animal proteins that are easily assimilated by pigeons. 
Proteins play a key role in the muscular system:

• Muscle structure: Proteins are the main structural components of muscles. Muscle fibres are mainly composed of protein.


• Muscle repair and regeneration: During intense exercise or muscle damage, proteins play a crucial role in the repair and regeneration of damaged muscle fibres.


• Muscle tissue synthesis: For muscle growth and development, new muscle protein synthesis is necessary. Dietary proteins provide the amino acids necessary for this synthesis, which helps to increase muscle mass and promote muscle hypertrophy.


• Oxygen and nutrient transport: Some proteins, such as myoglobin, are found in muscles and aid in the transport and storage of oxygen. In addition, proteins are also involved in the transport of nutrients, such as glucose and amino acids, into the muscles to provide energy during flight.


• Muscle contraction: Contractile proteins, such as actin and myosin, are directly responsible for muscle contraction. These proteins interact with each other to generate muscle force and movement.

- GLUCOSE

Protein tabs are enriched with glucose, which has very important functions during flight: 

• Energy source: Glucose is the main source of energy used by the body during moderate to high intensity exercise.


• Maintenance of blood glucose: During difficult flights, blood glucose levels can drop as it is used as an energy source. However, the pigeon's body has mechanisms to maintain blood glucose within a normal range. The liver can release stored glucose in the form of glycogen into the blood to maintain glucose levels during exercise and prevent hypoglycaemia (low blood glucose levels).


• Improved performance: Glucose availability can influence athletic performance. During difficult flights, when blood glucose levels drop, fatigue can occur. Consuming carbohydrates before and during exercise can help maintain glucose levels and delay fatigue, which can result in improved performance.


• Promoting recovery: After flights, replenishing muscle glycogen levels is important for recovery and preparation for future flights. Administering carbohydrates after exercise helps to replenish muscle glycogen levels and speed muscle recovery.

- ELECTROLYTES

Protein tabs also contain selected electrolytes which also play a prominent role during and after flights.

◈  How and when to use Protein tabs  

• During the flying season, for perfect muscle recovery: 1 tablet per pigeon on the day of return. If the pigeon is very tired, repeat the following day.


• During moulting for a healthy plumage: 1 tablet per pigeon twice a week.


• During rearing of growing young pigeons: 1 tablet per pigeon twice a week.
