Belgica De Weerd B.S. – Seasonal Programme for Pigeons
A practical guide to using Belgica De Weerd B.S. throughout the pigeon season.
B.S. Better Digestion is included in several Belgica De Weerd programmes for breeding, racing, young birds, moulting and winter management. This guide brings those recommendations together in one simple place, so you can quickly see when to use B.S., how long to use it and whether to administer it in drinking water or over the feed.

Standard mixing rate
Using the feed option can be particularly useful when pigeons are drinking less water, such as during colder periods.
Note: This mixing rate applies to the powder and sachet formats. B.S. Tablets are administered individually and should be used according to their own product directions.

Before breeding
Approximately 3 weeks before mating, Belgica De Weerd includes B.S. in its preparation programme.
During breeding
After the eggs have been laid, B.S. is included in the breeding programme to help maintain control of common protozoal problems during this important period.
After racing
B.S. is also included in Belgica De Weerd's post-race programmes. This gives breeders a practical way to incorporate digestive and protozoal support into the recovery routine after birds return home.
B.S. can also be given in the drinking water together with Belgasol. When B.S. is administered over the feed, Belgica De Weerd also includes Belgasol as an option for moistening the feed.
Young birds programme
Young pigeons have their own B.S. schedule within the Belgica De Weerd programme.
• 5 g in 2 litres of water or over 1 kg of feed.
• Continue for 7 days.
Approximately 10 days before training flights:
• Repeat the same mixing rate.
• Continue for 5 days.
During the young-bird racing season:
• After returning home, B.S. is included for approximately 1.5 days.
During moulting and winter
B.S. also forms part of the Belgica De Weerd moulting and winter programmes.
Water or feed: which should you choose?
Both administration methods are included in the seasonal programmes, so the most practical option can be chosen according to the birds and the time of year.
• The whole group is drinking normally.
• You want a quick and simple group administration method.
Use feed when:
• Water intake is reduced.
• Temperatures are lower and pigeons drink less.
• You prefer to incorporate B.S. into the feeding routine.
Using B.S. with Belgasol after racing
Belgica De Weerd specifically includes B.S. and Belgasol together in its post-race programmes.
Belgasol is used to support rapid rehydration after exertion, while B.S. forms part of the post-race digestive and seasonal health programme.
